I enjoyed this book though it was a little on the darker side. Not so much from the story but more from the internal mental struggles Tom puts himself through. It was refreshing because it was not the same old story line. It felt a little like the Stand mixed liberally with other apocalyptic elements. The story twists with the addition of the boy and his mother which took me by surprise and makes me wonder where that plot line will go. I look forward to the sequel.

Kevin Pierce did a great job on the narration as usual. I feel that if Kevin is narrating that it will be a good story.
