What was most disappointing about Jake Bible’s story?
The story started with a bang but then nothing happened for couple of hours. All we see is the development of two characters. Where other books from lack of character development, this book overdid it by spending 2 hours on it. And even after spending so much time on them, they then disappear from the narrative, contributing almost nothing until the end. That was very peculiar. The aliens’ characterization was also confusing. On one hand, they are portrayed as super intelligent and on the other, they are like flies running into bug zapper. Humans should’ve faced a greater foe to conquer. The battle scene looked rather convenient.
