I have to say that for such a die hard blue collar worker, John had no qualms about being with another guy. He was gung ho from the moment he started seeing Lucas as a sexual being and not the son of a friend.
This was absolutely an instalove/instasexytimes and I actually enjoyed the speed of their relationship.
I have not read many books narrated by Kirt Graves, but they did a good job and I look forward to hearing more of them in the future.
