The storytelling here is just as good as the first book, it hits similar high points for me, being Ryun destroying things with a grin on his face. I have to say, I find Zach to be a MUCH less compelling character, and even though this book expands on him a lot, I don’t think that problem has been fixed. I often find myself just waiting for the next Ryun chapter, and this book is primarily about Zach. There were some story choices made in this book that I found to be questionable, primarily the sudden deaths of a number of characters I was beginning to really like, but I can still say that I’m excited for the third book. I just hope it goes back to focusing on Ryun, with Zach as a secondary MC.
