Not much to enjoy here. It’s kinda like listening to the military industrial complex fantasize about space being exactly like a modern-times military campaign. All the time. The protagonists, who are essentially indistinguishable from one another besides their rank and specialty within the team, are given a Deus Ex Machina plot device in the first few chapters and spend the rest of the book “kicking butt” in almost-entirely-undescribed uncharted space. Did I mention that the characters have basically no personalities beyond their military rank? Military characters are good, civilian characters are bad. Pretty easy. The book ends with the addition of a former bikini model to the team as one of the former team members gets his own team. I’m not sure why so much attention was given to that detail, but the author definitely seems to want to make sure the reader understands that she is a former bikini model. That’s probably a pretty on-the-nose finish for this book. No more for me, please.
