I liked how the author seemed truthful in the story and showed the police had made mistakes, showed how a woman who should know better fell in love with Luther, and portrayed what it’s like to to have a narcissistic person in your life.
I oddly liked the narrator’s female voices, but thought he made the men sound too much the same. I’m not sure if it was they sounded like they had a southern accent or sounded elderly, but I would have appreciated more variation. This is being nit picky though, as I did enjoy the narration overall.
I’d recommend this book to someone I’d know had an interest in true crime and didn’t mind the details.
I chose this book because I had never heard of Tom Luther before and I wanted something fresh. I’d buy another book from this author. Even though I agree with many of the reviews it got monotonous at times, I did enjoy his style. I also believe this was his freshman attempt, so I’m interested in seeing if he dropped some of f the repetitive tendencies.
