I don’t understand modern writers and their love of Mary Sue characters. I didn’t listen/invest in 3 books to be introduced to a new character that’s just BORN perfect.

Everything else is just as good as the last books. But why not have Tika, or Bob, or one of the other OG NPCs gain the power to be the savior? I care about them, not Oren’s Rey-Mary-Sue of a character.
