Every science fiction story is a framework for examination of ideas of humanity. Well done you get people to examine ideas and concepts that they may otherwise reject without consideration by putting the story in an unfamiliar time and place with characters that they connect. The framework was very thin in this book. The characters were very basic. It was very much a labor union creation story set in space with some combat and that wasn’t well done. This book is more of a detailed outline of a good story than an actual book.

Jeffrey Kafer did his usual great job narrating but it was difficult to breathe any life into these characters.
