TLDR; MC is a self-centered coward and his actions are inconsistent with his background. The story is cliche’ and poorly executed but had a great premise that you keep hoping will get better.
Almost zero MC development. From the jump, it’s almost all whining and cowardice. Then the author tries to make the arch about the main character has some sort of redeemable qualities, but rather than show that growth and change the author has all the characters pet him like a high school teacher trying to encourage the gifted kid that “just needs to try harder.” The little bit of background they do give the character is completely inconsistent with his actions and reactions. In the end, it was all plot points with no point.
