I could smell the magnolias and taste the sweet tea and pie. I really felt my feet pushing gently under the porch swing and the genital breeze on my skin. I was at home with family. Everybody has an Aunt Sookie and a version of Poppy in their family.
This is my first book in this category so I was a little apprehensive. I shouldn’t have been. It’s a story everyone can relate to. I felt like I was welcomed in to a family that knew who they truly were. What others might consider their “baggage” they embraced as their strength. I wish I had grown up in Aunt Sookie’s house. Maybe I did for a little while thanks to the author. I hope this book continues in a series. I would like to follow, cheer on and gain the wisdom of my new relatives. I
