Although the narrator was great, the story itself was awful. I think I lasted until part way before I just couldn’t take it anymore. Michael was the epitome of toxic masculinity. Candice is engaged to be married and instead of respecting her choice he comes on so strong it’s a total turnoff. He didn’t really listen to her, he only listened to what HE wanted which was to get her to be with him. He deliberately mispronounced her fiancé’s name, he refused to read her social cues, totally toxic. Now I admit I didn’t finish the story so maybe he got better but he was such macho jerk to start out with I couldn’t stand it
