The story is captivating. The narration lacks somewhat, and I found it hard to listen to the narrator when she was speaking for Mudis. I am from the South. The colloquialisms and accent sometimes felt contrived and unnatural. This grated “like fingernails on a chalkboard”, to fall into the slang mode.
