I almost did not continue after book 3 due to the main character. I read/listened to book 4 to figure out Asher’s fate. I will finish book 5 just to see Asher get his happy ending and to have Eve proved wrong. I am over Eves immaturity, insecurity, and lack of faith/trust. Eve character showed some growth in this book, however, Eve still dropped the ball due to her fears, lack of trust, and lusting after Asher. I love steaming romance novels. This book is the first where it just not balanced well. It always tunnel vision of lust before doing something or activity. There been several moments where I have yelled at Eve for her stupidity and immaturity. Couple of times I had to put the book down. Was so happy when kenna broke Eve’s nose.

Props to the author for creating a emotional reaction to the characters. I like that the author kept the same characters and story through the series. Several romance novel focus on one couple at a time while progressing the plot.

I wish this series was written from Ashers point of view or combinations of Ashers and Eve. I want to know more about Asher and understand his point of view. All I have to work with is picking out the pieces between the lust driven actions.

My least favorite part that I wanted to slap Eve: When Eve gets taken to the demon lord to offer herself for her mother, she was warned by Gage to not speak. She did not heed the order at all. Once or twice fine – could help the story develop. But she repetitively kept talking. Then insulted an upper level demon and became mouthy with her protector Gage. My opinion this was over kill and caused me to seriously dislike the main character. After three books and the information in them, Eve should have more sense than what was written.
