If you can get past the subject of the book and not be judgemental, this is a well written book. The narrator is incredible. I wish we could rate narrators separately.
Yes the premise of the book is awful. Something that should never happen. I don’t feel as though it was romanticized like I’ve seen other reviews. I feel as though this happens in real life. Whether people agree or disagree, it doesn’t matter. It happens. And real life stories need to be told. Even the heartbreaking ones. It is not up to us to judge the outcome of someone’s story, whether it is written or real, in this case the author didn’t try to cater to the masses and make everything turn out how people would expect it too. Instead it turned out something like you may see in real life.
I felt for Wavy, and Donal. And yes even Kellen (I’m not saying I agree and understand his actions). I’m not saying I agree, I’m saying the author did a good job of making me feel emotions (sometimes I was uncomfortable). Which is really the goal, to feel.
