Would you listen to Beauty and the Beast: A Real Life Fairytale again? Why?
Yes, I would. It’s a nicely written romance, short enough to listen to when you are not too busy or when you travel… I liked the storyline in general, although there were some moments when I had to tell myself: OK, that’s a fairy tale of a kind, it doesn’t have to be totally believable and realistic:) Anyway, I liked the main characters, the background “vile creatures” were well drawn with a few lines here and there…
As I said, it’s a nice little piece of romance, clean and with a HEA:)
Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked the main character Bella a lot. She is loyal and caring, not biased towards people she meets, and strong enough to fight for what she thinks is right. Adam is likeable, too, although it would probably be more realistic if he was a little more beastly at the beginning….:) Then the change in him would be more visible, but still, I liked him as the hero:)
Which character – as performed by Angie Hickman – was your favorite?
Again, it must be Bella. In Miss Hickman’s interpretation she sounds young but decided, sweet and yet couragous…
Generally, I liked the interpretation of the book; although Ms Hickman doesn’t really act it out so much, it’s still a very good listen, with characters being given different enough voices for you to realize who is speaking, and the voices match each of the characters’ personalities.
