The book reads like the author had an idea for a cool scene to start off the book, but she had no idea where to go once the scene ended. The storyline is superficial and virtually nonexistent, the overall tone of the book delivered with moody, angsty, over explanation and little color or imagination. And don’t get me started on the characters. Not only is one character not distinguishable from the rest, but they have no identities outside the main character, who ranks in my top 10 worst female characters ever written. She has no personality, is rebellious to the point of irrational and beyond stupid, and is a straight up b*tch to pretty much everybody (even people she supposedly likes). I can’t believe these books were made audible, and feel very cheated that I can’t get my money back for the purchase (been going out on a limb and trying too many disappointing titles, so audible is punishing me). You might like this book if you are twelve. Otherwise, don’t waste your time.
