I struggled hard with this one. I’m from Minnesota, and really wanted to enjoy it. Sherlock is portrayed well. I thought the mystery was decent.
My problem, and pain point was John Watson. He was the biggest dumbass. Every single clue had to be explained to him by Sherlock. By this time in the story Watson and Sherlock have been together several years. He should know how to infer some of the basic clues. In this story Watson is no more than a foil for Sherlock to explain clues, instead of the well defined character He should be. Watson bugged me so much that it was a chore and struggle to finish.
