A great premise and listen with a few flaws

I noticed the negative reviews coming into this book and I braced myself for the worst, but what I found instead was a very entertaining book that I finished in a few days.

I do agree the strongest part of this book is the first third, where the mystery is at its greatest. Characters are solid, but not too memorable compared to the set pieces occurring around them. Action was definitely the highlight here and makes up for a story that does end on a weak note. Lastly, while the performer isn’t my favorite on Audible, he does a great job and gives every character a nice touch.

Overall, I’d recommend Flux. Its not a Time Travel story, more a story focused on traveling through time with fantastic action, solid characters and a fantastic non-human antagonist. If you need everything to be absolutely grounded, this is not the book for you, but if you enjoy a book that takes the best elements of a great B-Movie, give Flux a listen!
