When hearing time along with one or two comments in another language, is kinda off putting. I don’t know if it was the voice actor not knowing how to pronounce a lot of the words, but it was just awkward when they came.
The book has a lack of a strong main character. The narrative keeps flipping between the mother and the son. The mother never really brought anything to the book other just to say “woe is me, I’m week,” and the son was just there to bring the story along.
