I loved the well developed story of this book. Sometimes when an author seeks to ‘re-imagine’ history it can go wildly astray and the story suffers for it but in this case it truly didn’t it made you think..holy crap that could really be a sort of alternate truth.
The love story between Cronin and Alec is fun and passionate and the characters surrounding them do far more than merely support the MC’s. Jodis and Eiji are compelling and make me want to know more about their story.
So glad I took a chance on this one because it paid off bigtime! Joel’s narration is spot on as always not sorry in the slightest to add this one to my re-read/listen to library (I’ve listened to it 3 times already just in case I missed anything 😉 )
