This one is, more than anything else, a book about coping with mental illness – both in person and as a supporter. It almost serves as a how-to guide, but the writing itself and the serious research supporting it make for a well done and engaging story.
I hated the narration (would’ve given it 3 out of 5 at best) and it took me too long to accelerate the playback speed from 1.15, making it at all bearable, to the sufficient 1.25 which not only made the cringe go away but also brought up the narrator’s talents in all their glory. I strongly recommend trying playing with the playback speed in such cases, and if other reviews RAVE over a cringy narration – don’t give up too soon…
tl;dr – A well written story, with standard but well-done m/m romance and much added value. Narration superb at a higher speed.
