I enjoy survivalist & post-apocalyptic stories where a compelling hero or heroine has to survive some society-collapsing event. It can be zombies, EMP, nuclear detonation, or alien invasion. This story started out with the potential to guide us through such an event, but instead it turned out to be a shallow representation of conspiracy theorists standing up to the evil government, and oh by the way, God has been forgotten be society…

The characters are focused on saving their guns and putting God back into their child’s life because, you know, public education has just made them atheists and sheep. This book was disappointing!
