I’m a disabled vet who goes through A LOT of books, and I really liked this one. I’m fussy about accuracy in military technology and culture, obviously, and this author did an excellent job of not going too deep into either, so he wouldn’t misrepresent them. Too many authors make that mistake when they’re not intimately familiar with the subjects. He doesn’t try to sound like a combat vet, but he honors them. I respect that. His story is feasible in almost every way and it’s a lot of fun. To the reviewers who said it’s too political, I say NUTS. I couldn’t tell who was red or blue, not even the President. If they believe that the dangers of defunding and gutting our military is a simple political topic, the author can’t be held responsible for that kind of folly. Truth is sometimes uncomfortable.
