Faded Gray Lines is the second book in Cora Kenborn’s Carrera Cartel Series. After finishing Red Blurred Lines, I was eager to get Mateo’s story and WOW, Kenborn did not disappoint! The twists and turns are incredibly written. Just when I thought I knew the direction the story was taking me, I was stunned with another crazy turn of events! This is one EPIC read! It is full of corruption, betrayal and shocking deceit but underneath it is also a beautiful second chance love story.
Mateo is the underboss to the cartel leader, Valentin who was introduced in Red Blurred Lines. He has a dark and dangerous side to him but is that possessive, protective alpha type. Leighton is loyal and is as fierce as they come, but cross her and you will regret it! Leighton and Mateo have a complicated and heartbreaking past, and as they revealed their back-story it pulled at my every heartstring! Upon reconnection, the fiery passion and heat between them was explosive.
Aaron Shedlock and Sarah Puckett are super talented narrators. The way their voices pull you into this dark, suspenseful world was magnetic! I especially loved their phenomenal delivery of all the emotions their characters experience.
