…minus the “I never thought it would happen to me.”

While the story did resonate with my inner twelve-year-old, it was a bit too ‘adolescent-apparent’ for me to enjoy. The reviews aren’t wrong: the premise is good, the math is annoying, and there is definitely some fantasies being (partially) played out.

Some points that might help you decide, further, if this book is for you:

– There are about 4,327 adjectives used to describe women. The closest to describing a male character is “He was about the same age”.

– The main protagonist owns people. Not ‘slaves’ in a BDSM way, but he owns people…yet pretends to have some kind of character…I paraphrase: “Of course I can’t sleep with you, you’re my slave, I own you, it wouldn’t be right. What’s this? You still want to sleep with me? Well, I guess that makes it ok. Oh? You’ve cloned yourself a few times so it will be a foursome?” …and .

– There are attacks on and from Fort Kick-Ass and our hero does what he can to save all of “his people” while simultaneously keeping the level of ‘flirt’ safe…all the way until the disappointing non-ending.

The narrator did a great job, production was a little inconsistent with the effects, but overall the team did very well considering the content.
