I love stories set in small towns and as this is a holiday romance as well as a single parent story I was ready to dive in.
This is Skylar Marcelli and Rhett Buchanan’s story, add in Rhett’s daughter Addison and I was all in. This was an entertaining story that was well written and heart warming. The relationship that Rhett has with his daughter was beautiful to read.
I had a hard time warming up to the narrator Lucinda Gainey who is new to me. I felt at times that some of her voices sounded the same and I got a little confused as to which character was talking but it wasn’t enough to distract from my enjoyment of the actual story itself and of course that is just my opinion.
As mayor of Jasper Falls, Rhett needs a nanny which is how Skylar comes to live in. What neither of them expect is the intense and electric connection that sizzles between them. This was an entertaining story that ticked the boxes for me.
