Let’s overlook that narrator made a couple of obvious mistakes (he was a tall man, slightly less than my 5’6” 🙄)
and that Jay is worried in the first couple chapters about his mom’s house being dusty and dirty but when they get there he THEN SAYS “I’m glad I had someone come clean the house last week
AND that the next morning Joshua gets up and uses the mouthwash (in a house that’s been empty for two years ? ) ….
DNA results tell you what the likely relationship is but Josh goes to see Bernice not knowing what his relationship to her is but he knows that Luke is his brother? ….
The most outrageous of them all is that they go to the Selwyn’s house , tell them that his DNA results say that Luke is his brother and neither Jay or Luke seems to realize that this MUST mean that at minimum the Dr is his father ? Let’s assume it’s a dna test that doesn’t do mitochondrial and also add that Mrs. Dr. Creepy is his mother …. And they are stunned that they are asked to leave ? give me a break .
The premise of the book is that Joshua is looking for his biological family … because he was raised in foster care but knew he was adopted … but he’s related to the Benson brothers BUT DOESNT ASK ANY MORE QUESTIONS ?
THEN. the second book begins with Luke knowing that his father used his DNA to help infertile patients … hey I have a question- why is Joshua adopted if his birth mother went for infertility treatments with Dr Creepy … y a know what – I don’t care UGH WHAT A WASTE OF A CREDIT
I really wish the authors had a beta reader worth a damn because this could have been really good .
but the narrator has a nice pleasant time and keeps a nice pace through the nonsense 👍🏻
