After a while I just started to count the number and variety of racial slurs used in this book. I find myself wondering what the point is of using such language. Really adds nothing to the story. So many of these EMP stories start with terrorism by “the enemy”, whoever that is. I can’t tell if it’s directed at people of middle eastern or Asian descent in this particular story. It seems to be both. African American characters are always depicted as clueless, lazy, helpless, thugs or gangbangers and this book is no different, the only black character drinks the days away while every one else mobilizes, and the “clan” finally reaches the homestead where everything is community property, which, will eventually apply to the women, based on the ideas discussed within this book. I’ve had all I can take. Pass this series up.
