if you somehow stumble upon this review before listening to books 1 2 3 and 4 it’s totally worth the credits.
these books have a little bit of everything when it comes to the litRPG virtual world genre and to me is one of the best.
I read a lot of these types of books and you’ll have main characters that seem to always fall into the same bracket of being a very self-aware video game nerd protagonist trapped in a virtual world thats not only a retro video game nut but also a meme Lord.
Hector has always been able to kind of balance it pretty well to where it’s not so intrusive and immersion breaking.
bouncing him out with more player characters in this book was very enjoyable. and the world building is very easy to understand and follow like you could skip a chapter for some reason and still piece everything together from the characters recanting dialogue. the author really considers his listeners when it comes to explaining the world building and character relationships from previous books quickly and efficiently there’s never a moment where I felt lost or that I had to go and we listen to previous books to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
on a completely unrelated note to what I just wrote we got dragon booty in this one and that’s really important like I don’t I don’t think anybody understands how important it is to describe dragon booty I’m just saying the series has always been great about describing booty in general and I think that’s just great.
