Misdemeanor is book one of a trilogy, and it does not stand alone. I will forewarn you that this ends in a cliffhanger, but luckily by the time I discovered this trilogy, all three books (and audiobooks) were all out, so the wait to find out what happens next will not be a long one.

This is not the first book I have read (or, in this case, listened to) by CF White. I fell in love with her storytelling in another trilogy she wrote. Even when the story has a slow build-up, she does not leave you hanging or dying for the story to pick up the tempo. You enjoy the pace because her writing sucks you in, and all you know is the book in front of you.

These characters will grab on to you and make it easy to root for them as they begin their relationship. I felt like Micky and Dan were perfectly suited for each other. White did a fantastic job creating and developing the characters in this book.

Piers Ryman did a fantastic job with the narration. He’s done quite a few books for CF White, and I think he does her stories justice. He nails the emotions of each character her slips into. He also keeps up with the voices he gives each character, making it easy to follow along.
