Overall, I’m not impressed with this series. The dialog between characters and the general form of the writing is stiff and uninspired. At this point, I’m not sure if the narration is lacking because of the poor content or if the poor content isn’t allowing the narrator to shine. The characters are becoming a bit more interesting and the writing might be a little less stiff. Then again, I might just be getting used to it. The preview for book three seemed a bit more fluid and interesting, but with the poor showing for books 1 and 2, I don’t even have the urge to put book 3 in my wishlist to see if it goes on a $5 sale. I’m let down that this interesting story idea wasn’t executed better. If further books go onto Audible Plus, I might listen to see if things get better, but I don’t foresee myself continuing with this series.
