Entertaining but somewhat dated and conventional story.

This is a decently written and performed Sci-Fi yarn, bray rettro in it’s approach — e.g., alien abduction, Star Wars type conflict between a subjugating empire and populist insurrection. Time travers, advanced alien tech, and communication and interaction among a very broad spectrum of alien species are all incorporated within the naive perspective of 60s and 70s pop fiction (cf., Star Trek, Star Wars).

Nevertheless,I found it an entertaining audio book as long as I withheld my basic desire to experience Sci-Fi that embodies and advances the latest Scientific and cultural ideas. So, If that’s what you seek, then you might pass on this book.

But, if you want a light, entertaining story, then this book won’t disappoint. (I’m going to get the next story in this series – Galactic Destiny.)
