Who says it’s too early to get into the Christmas spirit?! Heck, the Christmas season starts the moment September 1st rolls in. We’re nearing the end of October and I’ve read a few holiday stories already, but Merry Measure is my first holiday audiobook! I read and loved the book last year, so when Lily Morton announced that the audiobook was out, I was thrilled, doubly so because Joel Leslie is the narrator. When Morton and Leslie get together, it’s audio gold, and I’ve yet to listen to one that I haven’t loved.

Arlo Wright and Jack Cooper’s story was a favorite last year, and now, getting to experience it all over again in audio was such a joy. These two were opposites and then there was the added complication of Arlo being the younger brother of Jack’s best friend. Paris may wildly considered as the City of Love, but for these two, it was Amsterdam. And sometimes, all you need is time together for you to realize a longtime crush may not be one-sided and to become that very something that you wished for.

As always, Lily Morton’s writing is something that never fails to bring a smile to my face, and I honestly feel that Joel Leslie is the perfect narrator to breathe life to her stories. This M/M holiday romance had the three Hs–heart, heat, and humor. Listening to Merry Measure was like listening to two friends relay their love story to me, and I was all for it. This was the perfect way to kick off my weekend, and I couldn’t have chosen a better audiobook to kick off my holiday listening with. Five-plus stars!
