The Elder Empire series is another genre bending lull free ride from indie author wizard extraordinaire Will Wight. While Cradlle is a blend of anime fantasy, Elder Empire is more fantasy horror with a Lovecraft feel, though utterly different and original from anything Lovecraft wrote. Unlike most fantasy, the setting is more 19th century plus magic and monsters rather than medieval. The story is told unconventionally with the books alternating between two main perspectives, each on opposite sides of a battle for the future of the world. Great stuff and highly recommended.
