Overall this story seems like a first attempt of a high-schooler that read the dresden files and thought they could do better and unfortunately failed. the story was very very rushed and tried to fit to much in too short a time. The characters were not well established and went back and forth on their attitudes twards the main character through out the book.
The voice actors performance seemed forced and uncomfortable for the actor himself. He also was rushed I found myself needing to slow the speed of the book down for the first several chapters just to keep track of what was happening. I would like to give the benefit of the doubt and say that the actor was only given a week’s worth of time to record all the takes and the just ran with whatever was acceptable at the end.
The concept of the book was interesting but seems like this should be a second draft and not the final draft. M ost times I give a series 2-3 books before I make a decision but I can’t legitimize sending more credits on this series.
