I love a good mafia romance and this was a new author for me so I was excited for that as well. I listened to the audiobook version, and I did find the story a little difficult to get into at the beginning but after a little while I was totally invested in both the story line and the characters.

Donatella and Cristian are basically marrying in an arranged marriage of sorts to bring Cristian more power. They are polar opposites as people in terms of personality, though Donatella is extremely outgoing and a risk-taker in terms of her occupation so she has no plans to just go along with everything Cristian tells her to do.

As the story unfolds, more secrets come out and of course there is endless amounts of drama. I did feel like maybe there was a bit too much going on at times that it became a little unrealistic, and it maybe took away from the story a little. I think maybe the author tried to do just a little too much and I wish there could have just been a little more focus on just Ella and Cristian’s story, but I do understand with a lot of mafia romances that the lies, action and drama is always in full force. Overall the story was enjoyable and I was glad to have listened to it.

Overall I enjoyed the audiobook. Tara Langella and Jay Alder did a good job though I did prefer Tara Langella’s narration in this particular story. #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlock
