A thrilling ghost story.

The Quiet House was a thrilling and entertaining story- it was great to be back with Levi and Blue. I loved seeing them so happy together, that the craziness of everything that went down in TMaABB didn’t have any lingering effects! But I’m not so sure that what happened in The Quiet House won’t be staying with them for a long time to come, eek!

Ghost Adventures is my favorite television show so it was fun to “tag” along as Blue, Levi, and Tom, and other assorted paranormal investigators, explored a haunted mansion at the bequest of its owner. They definitely would have been better off with Zak, Aaron, Jay, and Billy, as opposed to the crew they were stuck with, though! The Viscount really was out of his depth when it came to his plans for his haunted hotel, putting everyone in danger. But lucky for him, he had Blue and Levi there to save the day!

I enjoyed the spooky aspect of this story, I love anything dealing with ghosts and demons and the paranormal. But when things start to get dangerous, that brings a whole other feel to things, and in The Quiet House Levi and Blue found themselves in even more peril than they were with the “death house”. Thankfully they had each other, and Tom, to rely on. And surprisingly, the blast from Blue’s past.

I love Joel Leslie’s narration, he really is the best. His accents and performances are always spot on, and this book was no different. He had so many characters to voice- male/female/demon/ghost, and he nailed them all. So it really pains me to say this, but The Quiet House is probably the poorest, in terms of production quality, audiobook I have listened to that he’s done. I couldn’t get over how many edits there were, with clips having to be spliced in where parts were rerecorded. I can understand having a few here and there throughout the course of a book, so it took me by surprised with the quantity of them in this audio- there were multiples per chapter. I’m sure there are plenty of edits that happen and the listener is none the wiser, but most of these really stood out because of the difference in the sound quality. The edits never took me out of the story, but they are definitely noticeable, otherwise I’d never have mentioned them.
