This is the second in The Leafy Hollow Mystery series that I have listened to. The narrator is very good.
Aunt Adelaine is still missing and presumed dead. Control tells her she must pass a test before they will find her worthy of answers. Failure to pass will have dire consequences. They will not tell her what the test is.
A historian from England has come to Leafy Hollow to confirm a local legend but instead makes a claim that the legend, Prudence Bannon was a dog not a little girl. Before he can show any evidence of the claim, he winds up dead in the Bannon crypt.
Verity Hawkes and her BFF, Emy must investigate the death as Emy’s aunt is a suspect. At times I thought the story was a little far fetched but enjoyable. I can live with suspending some belief and enjoy the story.
It’s good to see Verity dealing with her anxiety.
I recommend this Get Smart meets cozy mystery. I enjoyed the book.
