Seriously, its one of the worst tropes I read in science fiction but it’s constant. As if people just evacuate their brains when close to a goal of sorts. I realize I am not making sense but when you read/listen to this you will understand. People going full psychopath when faced with their goals is just such a tired trope.
Outside of that, the story is enjoyable. Takes a while before it picks up but once it does it gets fun.
