A good writer has perverted his talent with a horrific bad ending, annoying religious proseletizing, and veiled parallels to the former slave-holding confederacy. This wrecks the otherwise good start of the first two books of this series.
Numerous technical errors on the capabilitilies of certain missile and aircraft systems, crypto software (truecrypt is secure), the means of creating EMP, effects of nuclear weapons, ham radio QRP modes, and more. I surmise that Mark Goodwin is a practitioner of none of the above technologies.
Hyper-religiosity is frequently a sign of mental illness. Maybe I will pray to Jesus for Mark Goodwin, but I dont really believe it will help him. The Pilgrims’ idea of religious freedom: everybody must be a member of their church, no other churches allowed!
