I have read these books before. I generally like Amelia Hutchins. Her characters are good and bad; they fit the story, not a statement the author is trying to make about gender. They are strong yet fallible. Sometimes you hate them, the next page you are cheering for them. Her storytelling is very compelling and more than the average romance.

The second book in this series is a obnoxiously repetitive, at least a dozen chapters of, “Mine (him).” “You don’t own me (her).” It is worth reading/listening to continue the series.

The narration: The male voice, who has very little play time, is very good. The female narrator, who is the bulk of the books, however…they must have traveled the depth and breadth of the San Fernando Valley to find the most valley of all valley girl accents….I mean like really, for sure…
