I love this genre, so my expectations are a little high. The narrator has a silly persona throughout the book. I was into it at first, then as the story started adding characters and layering as it were; the narrator unfortunately has extremely similar voices for most of his characters. I found it hard to follow the dialogue half the story. In fact I had a hard time differentiating the main character’s spoken and internal dialogue. If there was a separate person doing the character voices it would have helped with comprehension of certain scenes, because his voice and the cadence is perfect for the pace and tone of the actual story: which is quite funny and entertaining. I found myself rewinding a lot and forgetting who was talking n such.
