I waited to read other people’s reviews because surely someone would feel how I felt after completing this book. But so far everyone is giving it rave reviews. Although I LOVE all of this author’s books and I’ve read a couple of his series twice I have to be honest and say I struggled with this one. First I will say that in most of these books a lot of the things that happen and how characters make it out of impossible situations has been something that I’ve been ok with because.. well it’s just fiction, right? But this specific book was just over the top for me. Most of the book I found myself shaking my head at the amount of impossible situations that these characters were able to miraculously come out of. I know that the point is God can get us through anything and everything and He will provide. But I think this author should have tried to at least make some of this book a little believable. Also, I was extremely disappointed in MacKenzie’s character. She was made almost unlikable throughout this book with her childish behavior that I felt was unnecessary since I really grew to like her in the second book. With all this said I enjoy anything Mark Goodwin writes and will continue to read his books. Just a bit disappointed with this one.
