I just love a good romance with heart, and Didn’t Expect You has it in spades. Nathaniel and Nyx are a couple that just connects, and this slow-burn multi-cast audio was a real treat to listen to.
Nathaniel and Nyx’s love story is anything but typical, but what I really loved about their relationship is how deeply rooted it was in friendship. Yes, they were attracted to each other from the start, but they were off-limits. But when Nyx needs help, Nathaniel is determined to be the friend that she desperately needs. They lean on each other in such a pure and loving way, and they get to know each other so deeply on an emotional level before the physical bond is formed.
The cast is simply wonderful. With narrators like Aaron Shedlock , Virginia Rose , Jason Clarke , Brooke Bloomingdale , Teddy Hamilton , Liam Sanderson and Connor Brown, you really can’t go wrong. The primary narration is Aaron Shedlock and Virginia Rose as our two main characters, and I always love the work that they do.
All in all, a really wonderful listen.
