The characters were not believable. The main antagonist was supposed to be the nastiest person who survived an apocalypse, and he calls to ask for help to kill one person after only one attempt instead of just getting “nasty” and destroying him.
Most of the interaction between Lola and the main character, Battle, was annoying to listen to and ridiculous. I myself am prior service and have been in combat and if I was rushing my life for her and telling this woman what to do and she argued with me half as much as Lola does in this book series I would have probably left her to die somewhere. It was beyond frustrating to listen to and I just couldn’t do it anymore. Also, I’m not much into religion and that got kind of annoying as well.
