All the reviews I’ve read were based solely on the themes of the book. While I definitely liked the theme or I wouldn’t have listened to the whole series, let’s not forget the characters. Emilio Vega was a great protagonist. He was flawed, conflicted, a mix of masculinity and spirituality, and a great leader on the spiritual and physical battlefield. My favorite characteristic was his concern for others’ salvation. He’s a character men can relate to, strive to be like, fear or loath, depending on the type of man of course!
