Poorly written books can be saved by really good narration. This audiobook had neither. There is potential for a good story here, but the writing was repetitive and predictable, the characters were 2 dimensional, and the history of this universe needed a bit more development.

The narration was monotone. I almost turned it off after 5 minutes, but stuck it out for about 5 chapters. The Scottish accent sounded like a lethargic James Doohan, women’s voices were falsetto, and the main character came off as a macho monolith.
