I normally don’t like apocalyptic stories, but I’m glad I gave this book a chance. Not only is the story so good that it sucks you in, the characters are all interesting and distinct. Carl’s reactions to having the world end and having to survive a murderous game show are surprisingly believable.
The narration is amazing. Not only does Jeff Hays channel Patrick Warburton when speaking as Carl, the accompanying sound effects are done tastefully and are not obtrusive.
