The book is good if you make a conscious effort to ignore the opening. Seriously it’s extremely cringey, inconsiderate, and borderline misogynistic… The dude establishes himself as a piece of shit like as quickly as possible, and repeatedly reinforces that by man splaining to you why he’s not an asshole… (hint if you have to explain to yourself why you’re not an asshole, then you probably are one. Also smoking inside just to spite someone is a dick move. Double dick if you’re smoking on their pets…)

Also the opening does this thing where they’re trying to force him being from Seattle? Like, yeah, no. Tacoma or Everett maybe… (though Florida is more believable). At any rate, this dude, and his neighbors are not from Seattle. ?

I enjoyed the book over all, it gets a lot less disgusting after the main character runs out of cigarettes. I liked that he confronted edge lord bullies, and if you’re a litrpg junkie, and you don’t mind slogging through a dumpster fire to get to the good stuff (i.e. a good, non-harem litrpg, which this is) you’ll want to read this book.

But as-is, I can’t recommend this book to the average reader. Rewrite the opening and then we’ll talk…
