There are a small number of problems that temporarily knocked me out of my suspension like having a hero simultaneously be wreckless and intelligently planning his moves in combat after suffering a loss. I’m not quibbling as these are real problems, but you may have noticed that it doesn’t seem to have effected the stars given much and that is because the author is normally exceptional at supporting his narrative (and the listener) with explanations and giving actions context with the internal monologue of the main character.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I’m looking forward to the author’s other works. My guess is that with an editor or simply more time writing, this writer will become one of the best and even his “early works” are fun reads.
